WILDRUM KENNELS GRIFFONS

We have done a lot of work researching the Griffon and have brought in some Griffons that we feel will not only compliment one another in a breeding program but also dogs that have solid, hunt tested Griffons in their lineage.

Wildrums also works closely with a few other Griffon breeders - in support of one anothers efforts to take the best step forward with the breed and in placing pups with good families.

Breeding dogs is an honorable thing and we must respect the breed and mother nature with all that we do. It cannot be any other way.

Rizon has been a real joy to be with, day-to-day. Her enthusiasm for getting out and working are exceptional. She is constantly being told what a sweatheart she is, by all who meet her.

Rizons Penn Hip results are excellent (top 90th percentile of the breed) and her coat is dense and medium harsh. She is built for the grouse woods! She is a bit larger than Piper, weighing in at 63 pounds on her first birthday.

Pictured here are Rizon (LEFT) and her brother Gunner. Both provided some wonderful experiences, to me as a handler, in their first summer together (Gunner was started for a client).

Piper brings extreme prey drive to our program. She loves the water and is, you could say, a "recreational swimmer" - swimming just for the fun of it.

Intelligence and cooperation are strong suits with this girl.

Pipers mother, Arial, was a "blue hen", producing several litters that resulted in NAVHDA breeders awards. Piper has produced two wonderful litters thus far and is an excellent mother!

Willow is the latest addition to our tribe. She has me and everyone else in her life saying "WOW! - Is this girl ever smart!" A testiment to the work that Dan & Julie are doing out there at Roughrider Kennels in North Dakota. We are extremely excited about what Willow brings to the table - from a pedigree standpoint. There are so many accomplished, proven dogs in her ancestry! We are already glowing and very pruod of this little girl! Check back for more updates as Willows development unfolds.

Brody and his littermates had enough successful runs

in a NAVHDA Natural Ability test to produce a

NAVHDA Breeders award for Dale Bruni & Upland Kennels.

I acquired Brody from Dale in 2003. Dale was a very

reputable breeder and the lineage for the litter included

VC GooseCreek Amigo and Griffonpoint Into Upland - "Arrow" UT I

Brody has excellent structure and a beautiful dense coat. In all of our days pursuing the Ruffed Grouse and with all of the berry canes, hawthorn and brush we've busted, I have never had to deal with a tear to Brodys skin, which is a testiment to the Griffon coat. Brodys feet are very tight (where the rubber meets the road - so to speak) and he is a very athletic, powerful sporting dog.

Our progress in developing top-notch Grouse dogs is discovered each fall when we head to the forests of northern Wisconsin. Brody's first season was a slow one, with the transition from reared birds to these spooky, hard flushing wily birds, but that is all part of the process. He was soon a savy Grouser and earning every bite of his Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwiches.

Brody is steady to flush, wing, shot and fall. I completed his conditioned retrieve training (in 6 weeks) at the age of 18 months. He has a very strong retreive and loves the water work.

WILDRUMS APPLESAUCE - AKA "FRITZ"
